The Washington Nationals on Tuesday agreed to terms on a two-year deal with free-agent first baseman Adam LaRoche, MLB.com reported citing a source.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed and an official announcement is expected Thursday.

FOX Sports cited a source Monday saying a deal was close.

“It’s such a good match,” the source said.

The Nationals had been looking for a first baseman since they allowed slugger Adam Dunn to become a free agent.

LaRoche is coming off a season in which he batted .261 with 25 home runs and 100 RBI in 151 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
