The Reds reinstated right-handed reliever Logan Ondrusek off the 15-day disabled list on Friday before the start of their three-game series against the Washington Nationals.

They optioned left-hander Travis Wood to Triple-A Louisville to open a roster spot.

Ondrusek went on the disabled list on Aug. 9 with a strained right forearm. He's 4-4 with a 2.63 earned run average in 56 appearances.

Wood was called up to replace Ondrusek and made the first two relief appearances of his major league career. Wood opened the season with Cincinnati and went 5-5 with a 5.11 earned run average in 16 starts before being optioned to the minors.
