Boston Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester is having his next start pushed back two days, and Ryan Dempster is taking his place on the mound Sunday against the New York Yankees.
Red Sox manager John Farrell announced the change Saturday before the teams met for the middle game of the three-game weekend series.
Lester (8-6, 4.58 ERA) has struggled since starting 6-0 start this season. He has allowed at least five runs in five of his last 11 starts, giving up four in three others.
Lester is now scheduled to start Tuesday against Tampa Bay.

Farrell didn't cite any specific reason for the rotation change, but said ''two extra days will help him.''
