Rangers' Harrison feels 'great', scheduled for rehab start Wednesday

Texas Rangers left-handed starter Matt Harrison is progressing nicely in his bid to come back from three back operations that threatened to derail his promising career.
As Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported on Sunday, Harrison is scheduled to make a rehab start on Wednesday with Triple-A Round Rock - a date that just so happens to be the one-year anniversary of his spinal fusion operation in 2014.
Harrison summed up his rehabilitation process with the following hopeful statement to Wilson: “I feel great. A big difference the last two games was I felt like I maintained and picked up the velocity after the first inning.”
As for his upcoming Triple-A gig, he's also really looking forward to getting back on a mound in a real game situation: “I’ve never taken eight months off from throwing,” Harrison said. “I think when I get under some lights, that’s going to help.”
If this all works out for Harrison, not only will his return to the Rangers be remarkable considering his past medical concerns but it will also substantially help the Rangers solidify their rotation (if he returns to form, of course).
