Pirates turning a lot of double plays

It may not be as thrilling as a home run, but a double play is right up there when it comes to the most exciting plays in baseball.
Getting two outs with one pitch is certainly beneficial to a team's pitcher and can be very thrilling for the fans.
So far this season, Pirates fans are in luck as the team has turned its fair share of double plays.
As Pirates.com notes, "the combination that has the Pirates leading the Majors by a wide margin -- through Friday's games, their 66 twin-killings were nine more than any other team's -- is unique because it goes Mercer-or-Kang-to-Walker-to-Alvarez."
So what is it about the Pirates that allows them to turn two so frequently?
Well part of it may be Neil Walker's attitude and mindset.
"Neil is the principal in those multiple combinations. It's one of his strengths," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. "He turned one the other day and got absolutely wiped out. He's got courage, guts -- he'll hang around the bag. He's not one to look to just get the force and get out of the way."
