Pirates send Lincoln down, recall Leroux

Published Jul. 3, 2011 5:54 p.m. ET

The Pittsburgh Pirates sent right-handed pitcher Brad Lincoln to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday.

Lincoln started the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. He allowed two runs and four hits in six innings and got a no-decision in Washington's 4-3 win.

Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle said that Lincoln ''did nothing to disappoint.'' Hurdle said the team didn't have a place on the roster for the team's No. 1 selection in the 2006 draft.

The Pirates recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Leroux from Indianapolis.
