Pirates LHP Rodriguez says he's missing next start

Pirates left-hander Wandy Rodriguez says he will miss his scheduled start Sunday against the Reds because of a strained left hamstring.
''I can throw on it, I can walk on it and I can run on it but the one thing I can't do yet is push off of it when I try to pitch,'' Rodriguez said Saturday. ''It's getting a lot better and I don't think I'll miss any more starts.''
Though the Pirates did not officially announce a replacement or make a roster move, Triple-A Indianapolis right-hander Phil Irwin was in uniform for Saturday night's game with the Reds and is expected to pitch Sunday.
Irwin, 26, won his lone start this season for Indianapolis, allowing only one run in six innings. He has never pitched in the major leagues.
Rodriguez was injured Monday and was forced to leave his start at Arizona in the third inning. Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said it is ''improbable'' that Rodriguez will be placed on the disabled list.
