SAN DIEGO (AP) The Philadelphia Phillies turned the first triple play in Petco Park history , accomplishing the feat in the bottom of the seventh inning.

With runners on first and second, Padres pinch-hitter Jabari Blash hit a grounder to Maikel Franco at third. He stepped on the bag and fired to second baseman Cesar Hernandez to erase Jose Rondon. Hernandez's relay to first baseman Ryan Howard beat Blash by a step.

It was the Phillies' first triple play since doing it against the New York Mets on Aug. 23, 2009.
