Phillies recall RHP Neris from Triple-A Lehigh Valley

DENVER (AP) The Philadelphia Phillies have recalled right-hander Hector Neris from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Neris takes the roster spot of righty Chad Billingsley, who went on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday due to a shoulder strain. The move involving Billingsley is retroactive to Saturday.

Billingsley (0-2, 6.75) has made three starts after missing two seasons due to two right elbow operations.

Before Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies, Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said the loss of Billingsley was ''a setback for a guy that's been through a lot. It's too bad.''

Sandberg said the team will bring up Severino Gonzalez to start Wednesday. Gonzalez is 1-2 in five starts with Lehigh Valley this season.
