Peralta's rehab taking a little long

Published Jun. 21, 2015 2:49 a.m. ET

Wily Peralta's rehab is "a little behind schedule," according to Brewers.com.

"We put a time frame on this at the start, but they're guesses," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. "You've got to go by how the guy is feeling.

"He's extending the playing catch to a little longer distances, but he's probably a little behind, I think. He's not on a mound yet, so I think we're a little ways away."

Peralta was placed on the DL on May 25 and was expected back in four to six weeks. While that timetable may be a bit off, things do appear to be heading in the right direction.

"Maybe late next week we'll get him on a mound," Counsell said. "You've just got to go through the steps, and he's got to pass all those steps. Then we'll get him on a regular thing."
