Patton released by Marlins; he served suspension in 2015

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) Left-hander Troy Patton, who served a suspension last year under Major League Baseball's drug program, has been released by the Miami Marlins.

Patton was suspended for 80 games following his third positive test for an amphetamine. While with Baltimore, he was suspended for the first 25 games of the 2014 season following a second positive test.

Patton, who hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2014, has a career ERA of 3.25 in 151 games. The Marlins released him Sunday.
