Padres to make 5 games available online

Published Aug. 9, 2010 3:39 p.m. ET

The San Diego Padres say they will make five games available online for free to fans residing in the team's home broadcast territory.

The live video stream will be available exclusively on padres.com beginning with games Aug. 18-19 at the Chicago Cubs.

Team president Tom Garfinkel says the online broadcasts will allow fans to see games that are not currently scheduled to be shown in the home market.

Padres fans will be required to complete a registration form to validate their location in order to see the online broadcasts. The stream will feature video and play-by-play from the opposing team's broadcast.

The other scheduled online broadcasts will be a home game Aug. 26 against Arizona and games Sept. 1 at Arizona and Sept. 15 at Colorado.
