SAN DIEGO (AP) The San Diego Padres on Wednesday reinstated infielder-outfielder Alexi Amarista from the 15-day disabled list. Amarista had been sidelined since April 20 with a strained right hamstring.
After beginning the season with Triple-A El Paso, Amarista was recalled by the Padres on April 10. He played in eight games, batting .333 (7 for 21) before the injury.
San Diego optioned right-hander Tayron Guerrero to El Paso in a corresponding move. Guerrero made his major league debut on Tuesday, pitching two innings against San Francisco.
