Published Apr. 25, 2014 9:41 p.m. ET

BALTIMORE (AP) Orioles first baseman Chris Davis has left Friday night's game against Kansas City with a strained left oblique.

Davis left in the fifth inning with Baltimore trailing 2-0. He appeared to hurt his side during a third-inning at-bat, but played the field in the fourth.

The severity of the injury was not immediately determined.

Davis led the majors with 53 homers and 138 RBIs last season. He has two home runs this year.
