ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is out of Wednesday's starting lineup against Tampa Bay because of a sore left hand.

Davis left in the fifth inning of Tuesday night's 11-2 win over the Rays.

The soreness has been an issue for Davis at various times throughout the season. With an off day Thursday, Davis is expected to play Friday night against Detroit.

The slugger is hitting .229 with 35 homers and 78 RBIs.
