Murphy hits 1 of 4 HRs off Nolasco, Nats tie Twins 8-8 in 9

WASHINGTON (AP) Daniel Murphy hit his first homer in a Nationals uniform, one of four deep shots allowed by Twins starter Ricky Nolasco, and Washington tied 8-8 against the Minnesota Twins, who got home runs from Joe Mauer and Brian Dozier and a three-run double by Eddie Rosario in the exhibition finale for both teams Saturday.
Murphy set a major league record with the New York Mets in 2015 by homering in six straight postseason games, then signed a $37.5 million, three-year contract with Washington.
Ryan Zimmerman and Murphy connected on consecutive pitches in the first inning. Michael A. Taylor's fifth homer of the spring came in the third, and Danny Espinosa added a solo shot in the fourth.
Nationals reserve Chris Heisey tied the game in the ninth with a leadoff homer against minor leaguer Brandon Peterson.
Washington starter Joe Ross gave up eight runs and 12 hits in five innings.
Minnesota finished its exhibition schedule 19-11-2; Washington went 19-4-4 under new manager Dusty Baker for the majors' best record in spring training.
