Published Jun. 3, 2010 11:39 p.m. ET

Seattle's Casey Kotchman has broken Kevin Youkilis' major league record for consecutive errorless chances by a first baseman with 2,003.

Kotchman set the mark in the second inning Thursday night against Minnesota, breaking Youkilis' mark when he cleanly caught Josh Wilson's throw to get Nick Punto to end the inning.

Kotchman's streak started on June 20, 2008. He's just the second first baseman in baseball history to surpass 200 straight games without an error. Youkilis is the other.
