Mets fans swarm Yankees fan who attempts to throw back home run ball

Some traditions are worth fighting over. At Citi Field on Monday night during a Subway Series game, New York Mets shortstop Matt Reynolds jacked a three-run homer to deep left-center off C.C. Sabathia when the ball ricocheted into the arms of the enemy.

And then the Yankees fan (wearing a Don Mattingly Jersey, awesome) attempted to heave the ball back onto the field, which is not something a baseball fan does when a hometown player hits a home run.

To be sure, the guys look like friends. It's not clear what ultimately happened to ball, but the 25-year-old Reynolds might like it as it's only his second career home run.

The Bronx Bombers won the game 6-5 in the 10th inning, after which that Yankees fan almost certainly got shouted down on the subway for saying something fresh about the Mets.
