McLouth finalizes $10.75M, 2-yr deal with Nats

Outfielder Nate McLouth has passed his physical and finalized a $10.75 million, two-year contract with the Washington Nationals.

McLouth gets $5 million in each of the next two seasons, and the Nationals have a $6.5 million option for 2016 with a $750,000 buyout.

McLouth was a starter with the Baltimore Orioles this year, but in Washington he'll be the spare outfielder expected to fill in when Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth or Denard Span is injured or takes a day off.

The 32-year-old McLouth has played nine seasons in the majors with Pittsburgh, Atlanta and the Orioles, and was an All-Star and Gold Glove winner in 2008. He hit .258 with 12 home runs and 36 RBIs this year.

To make room on the 40-man roster following Thursday's deal, the Nationals designated outfielder Corey Brown for assignment.
