CINCINNATI (AP) The Miami Marlins recalled lefty Justin Nicolino from Triple-A New Orleans to start Saturday in his major league debut against Cincinnati.

Nicolino replaced right-hander Tom Koehler, who was scratched with neck and back problems.

Nicolino, 23, was 4-3 with a 2.87 ERA in 13 starts for the Zephyrs. He originally was Toronto's second-round pick in the 2010 draft and was traded with Cincinnati's starter Saturday, righty Anthony DeSclafani, in a deal that involved 12 players and cash.

Miami designated catcher Jhonatan Solano for assignment. He had one hit in 20 at-bats over seven games in two stints with Miami. He had rejoined the Marlins on Thursday.
