Marlins' DeSclafani sidelined by bruised forearm

MIAMI (AP) Miami Marlins rookie right-hander Anthony DeSclafani left Friday night's 9-5 loss to the Oakland Athletics with a bruised right forearm. His status is day to day.
DeSclafani was hit in the arm by a line drive in the first inning by Brandon Moss that went for an infield hit. DeSclafani continued to pitch but left the game after three innings, trailing 2-0.
''I felt good to keep going, but I understand where they're coming from,'' he said. ''I had a sweat going and a lot of adrenaline, so I didn't quite feel it when I was out there. It's their judgment and their decision to take me out.''
X-rays were negative, and DeSclafani said he expected to be able to throw on the side Saturday
DeSclafani, who was making his fifth career start, has an ERA of 7.40.
