HARVEY TIME

Mets ace Matt Harvey starts at Nationals Park with New York trailing Washington by two games in the NL East. He's 2-0 vs. the Nats this season and has shut them out for 13 innings. Star slugger Bryce Harper is 0 for 12 with six strikeouts in his career against Harvey.

REFRESHED?

Home Run Derby champion Todd Frazier could return to the starting lineup when Cincinnati hosts the Cubs. The third baseman pinch hit Sunday, and is 0 for 10 since the All-Star break.

RARE DOUBLE-DIP

After heavy downpours in Anaheim, California, postponed their game Sunday night against the Boston Red Sox, the Los Angeles Angels will host their first doubleheader since 2003 on Monday. It was the Angels' first home rainout since June 16, 1995, and just the 16th time in their 55-year franchise history.

CHECK HIM

Pirates shortstop Jordy Mercer will get evaluated in Pittsburgh, a day after he was carted off the field following a collision with Carlos Gomez in Milwaukee. Mercer couldn't put pressure on his left leg as a result of trying to tag Gomez.

SWITCH IT AROUND

Ambidextrous A's pitcher Pat Venditte, sidelined since June 11 with a strained right shoulder, will throw batting practice Monday at Class A Stockton. He'll toss 15 pitches with each arm.

WELCOME BACK

Royals reliever Kris Medlen will come off the disabled list, taking another step in his comeback from his second major elbow surgery. He'll join Kansas City's bullpen for the start of a three-game series vs. visiting Pittsburgh. Medlen last pitched in the majors in 2013 for Atlanta.
