Kinsler ejected from Rangers game after 3rd strike

Published Jun. 25, 2010 10:21 p.m. ET

Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler has been ejected from their game against Houston after taking a called third strike to end the third inning.

Kinsler angrily flipped his bat, his helmet and his shin guard away from home plate after umpire Eric Cooper called strike three. Kinsler had his back turned to the umpire and was walking toward the infield when the ejection was signaled.

When Kinsler realized he had been tossed from the game, he turned around and started yelling at Cooper, holding two fingers in the air while being restrained by third base coach Dave Anderson. It was clear during Kinsler's at-bat that he wasn't pleased about another pitch he took was called a strike by Cooper.
