DETROIT (AP) Kansas City outfielder Nori Aoki is out of the starting lineup Wednesday at Detroit after leaving Tuesday night's game with left groin discomfort.
Manager Ned Yost describes the injury as a cramp. He says Aoki probably could play Wednesday, but the team doesn't want to push it. The Royals took over first place in the AL Central with an 11-4 win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Detroit outfielder Torii Hunter, who has been dealing with a hamstring issue, also is not in the starting lineup.
