Atlanta Braves starter Jair Jurrjens strained his left hamstring and has been replaced after the first inning of a game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jurrjens allowed a three-run home run off the right field foul pole to David Freese in the first inning Thursday. He retired the first two batters before hitting Matt Holliday and allowing a single to Colby Rasmus.

Kris Medlen replaced Jurrjens in the second inning.
