Johnson lead Marlins on mound and at-bat

Josh Johnson had a productive day on the mound and at the plate, leading the Miami Marlins to a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Miami's opening-day starter, Johnson pitched five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out four, but he walked five. He threw 79 pitches, 45 for strikes.

Johnson opened the scoring with an RBI double to deep left-center in the second inning. John Buck and Bryan Peterson both homered in a three-run fourth inning for the Marlins.

Rays starter Wade Davis struggled in what could be his final bid to make Tampa Bay's rotation. Davis gave up four runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 4 2-3 innings. He threw 91 pitches, 52 for strikes.
