Published Aug. 15, 2010 3:59 p.m. ET

Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner has been activated from the disabled list.

Hafner is in the lineup batting in the cleanup spot for Sunday's series finale against the Seattle Mariners. He has been on the DL since Aug. 3 with inflammation in his right shoulder, which he had surgery on in 2008.

Hafner was batting .267 with nine homers and 33 RBIs in 82 games when he was sidelined. In eight games before going on the DL, he was 13 for 29 and was hitting .302 since June 7.

To make room for Hafner, the Indians optioned Jordan Brown to Triple-A Columbus. He batted .226 in nine games for the Indians.
