Harrison fighting to prove his worth

Josh Harrison isn't having the type of season that he had in 2014. Just a season ago Harrison appeared in 143 games, hit .315 and really made a name for himself in Pittsburgh.

However, 2015 hasn't been so kind to Harrison and although 2014 was the best year of Harrison's career so far, he knows he'll be able to repeat the success.

“I know I'm a guy that they've invested in, and I expect myself to perform,” Harrison told Pirates.com. “I know what I'm capable of. I know last year was no fluke.”

The Pirates signed Harrison to a big contact – $27.3 million guaranteed over the next four years – over the offseason and Neal Huntington, the General Manager, just believes Harrison's slow start is a result of him trying to live up to the contract.

“He's trying to justify the contract,” Huntington said. “He's trying to show those that doubted him. He's trying to show us – for showing faith in him – that it's deserving.”

Throughout his career Harrison has hit over 40 points higher in the second half of the season so odds are as the weather gets warmer, so will Harrison's bat.
