Happ and Cobb meet with reporters together

Having both come back from scary head injuries, J.A. Happ and Alex Cobb got together at the stadium where they both got hurt.

The pair had texted each other since getting hurt, but on Sunday met reporters before Toronto played at Tampa Bay.

''I think the key thing is we were both able to come back,'' said Happ, who allowed two runs over 5 1-3 innings in his return to Tropicana Field Saturday night, a 6-2 victory for the Blue Jays.

It was Happ's third start since returning from the disabled list. He suffered a skull fracture and sprained right knee when he fell to the ground after getting hit with a liner by Desmond Jennings on May 7.

Cobb made his first big league start Thursday night in two months, giving up one run over five innings in the Rays' 7-1 victory over Seattle. The right-hander sustained a concussion after being struck on the right ear by a liner hit by Kansas City's Eric Hosmer on June 15.

''Not too many people know what you're going through on a personal level,'' Cobb said. ''I think both of us, when we got back out there, it was kind of a normal feeling.''
