Giants' Bochy doesn't pick Kershaw for ASG, but Dodgers aren't snubbed

No matter who Giants manager Bruce Bochy selected for the All-Star Game, he would likely be criticized. In reality, Bochy didn’t have as much say in the final picks. According to Barry Bloom of MLB.com, he said:
"I only get nine picks and three of them had to go to teams that didn't have reps. So I don't get as many picks as some people may think."
Many critics have been up-in-arms about the snubbing of Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw. According to Bloom, Bochy called the selection of his own Madison Bumgarner a “no-brainer.” While it’s arguable whether Bumgarner may be having a better season than Kershaw, Bochy has had a front-row seat for Bumgarner’s greatness. He’s seen his ace beat the Dodgers’ ace three times this season, and of course, there was October last year...
It would be easy to draw the conclusion that the Dodgers had been snubbed by the rival Giants manager, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. According to Bloom, the Dodgers’ Adrian Gonzalez and Yasmani Grandal were among Bochy’s limited picks. He also chose Dodgers manager Don Mattingly to his All-Star coaching staff.
