Former Blue Jay Ruiz signs with Japan team

Former Toronto Blue Jays infielder Randy Ruiz has signed a contract with the Rakuten Eagles of Japan's Pacific League, the team announced on its website.
The 32-year-old Ruiz, who played in 13 games for Toronto this season, will earn $493,000 with the Eagles.
Ruiz had a .272 average with 12 home runs and 25 RBIs in 68 major league games over three seasons with the Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins.
