Ethier removed from game

Published May. 22, 2011 10:00 p.m. ET

Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier was taken out of Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox with injuries to his back and toe after he ran into the outfield wall in the fourth inning.

Dodgers catcher Rod Barajas was also taken out in the fourth inning with a right wrist injury. He was replaced by Dioner Navarro.

Ethier crashed into the fence trying to run down Juan Pierre's double. He was visibly shaken up but team trainers didn't come out to check on him.

He remained in the game for one more batter, then was removed after Alexei Ramirez blooped a single into right field.
