Ever since Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright went down to injury after an at-bat, the debate about whether there should be a DH in the National League has been stirred up again. New D-Backs manager Chip Hale gave his thoughts on the Burns and Gambo show on Arizona Sports 98.7 on Tuesday. He pointed to the disadvantage that pitchers face in not being required to hit at lower levels such as high school and college. He said:

"But some of these guys haven't hit since they were in Little League. That's the issue that we come up with and you're putting guys in spots where they have no chance to be successful."

Hale said that both leagues should have the same rule going forward.
