Cubs' Lester making an impact in Chicago community

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:17 p.m. ET

The Cubs signed Jon Lester for his ability to make an impact on the field, but the left-hander is having quite the impact in the community as well.

In 2012 Lester launched the "NVRQT" campaign, which stand for "Never Quit, " to help raise money for children's cancer.

The cause is especially important to Lester as he battled, and defeated, lymphoma earlier in his career.

While Lester's career has taken him to a new city in 2015, his desire to help children has not wavered and prior to Tuesday night's game he hosted an NVRQT outing.
