Clarification: BBO--Flood's Memorabilia

In a Nov. 10 story on an auction of baseball memorabilia, The Associated Press reported that the late St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Curt Flood is remembered as a player who paved the way for free agency. The story should have noted that Flood's lawsuit against Major League Baseball failed and that the Andy Messersmith-Dave McNally arbitration decision in 1975 overturned baseball's reserve clause, clearing the way for free agency.
