Brewers recall McClendon to replace Green

Published May. 5, 2011 5:20 p.m. ET

The Milwaukee Brewers have optioned right-hander Sean Green to Triple-A Nashville and recalled right-hander Mike McClendon.

The Brewers made the move before Thursday night's game against the Atlanta Braves.

Milwaukee, which placed left-hander Zach Braddock on the 15-day disabled list with a sleep disorder on Tuesday, needed a fresh arm in the bullpen after being swept by the Braves in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old McClendon pitched a scoreless inning in his only appearance with Milwaukee before he was sent to Nashville on April 21.

Green was 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 14 games.
