Brewers' Parra ties club mark with 4 WPs

Published Jun. 23, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

Brewers starter Manny Parra has matched a 35-year individual club record with four wild pitches against the Minnesota Twins and reliever Kameron Loe fired a fifth to set a team pitching mark.

Parra misfired in the second, the fourth and twice in the sixth inning on Wednesday night to match Ed Sprague's mark set May 14, 1975, at Texas. The left-hander's worst throw came when his toss sailed well over catcher Jonathan Lucroy's head while trying to intentionally walk Delmon Young in the sixth.

Parra entered with just five wild pitches this season, but became the second pitcher in the majors to throw four in a game this year, joining Cleveland's Jake Westbrook, who did it on April 5.

Loe's wild pitch in the seventh set a franchise mark for wild pitches in a game.
