Brewers' Braun hitting 2nd for 3rd time in career

Published May. 30, 2010 6:27 p.m. ET

Brewers All-Star left fielder Ryan Braun is hitting second for the first time since his first two starts in the majors in 2007.

Braun hit second in his debut on May 25, 2007, and the next day, going 4 for 8 with a homer and three RBIs. He moved to the third spot in his third game and has spent the overwhelming majority of his career there, hitting .316 with 104 homers and 329 RBIs from that position.

Prince Fielder is batting third instead of fourth for the third time this season.

Manager Ken Macha says he's just trying something different. He also has pitcher Randy Wolf hitting eighth followed by shortstop Alcides Escobar.
