Braves option top prospect Peraza, Jenkins to minors

ATLANTA (AP) The Braves have trimmed six players from their spring training roster, including top prospect Jose Peraza.

Peraza, regarded as the team's future starting second baseman, was optioned Monday to Triple-A Gwinnett. Peraza had only one hit in 16 at-bats in spring training games.

Right-hander Tyrell Jenkins, who was acquired with Shelby Miller as part of the Nov. 17 trade that sent outfielder Jason Heyward to St. Louis, was optioned to Double-A Mississippi. Right-hander Mauricio Cabrera and left-hander Yean Carlos Gil were optioned to Class A Carolina.

Left-hander Brady Feigl and catcher Jose Yepez were reassigned to the team's minor league camp.
