Bob DuPuy, who quit last fall as Major League Baseball's chief operating officer, has rejoined his former law firm, Foley & Lardner.

DuPuy also has become a senior adviser at Evolution Media Capital, an investment bank affiliated with Creative Artists Agency, the companies said Monday. CAA represents Derek Jeter and dozens of other major league players.

A longtime lawyer for baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, DuPuy was a partner at Foley & Lardner before joining MLB in 1998. He helped negotiate the $280 million collusion settlement with the players' association after arbitrators found owners conspired against free agents in violation of their labor contract after the 1985, 1986 and 1987 seasons.

DuPuy also has become an adjunct professor at Cornell University Law School in Ithaca.
