Beltran's future could hinge on diagnosis

A Mets team that can hardly afford more bad injury news is facing exactly that with All-Star center fielder Carlos Beltran.
The Mets confirmed yesterday that Beltran was in Vail, Colo., for a second opinion on his ailing right knee, this one from noted orthopedic surgeon Richard Steadman.
