Angels pay tribute to former infielder Adams

The Angels paid tribute to Ricky Adams, a utility infielder on the club's 1982 Western Division Championship team, who died following a long battle with cancer.
Adams passed away Friday at the age of 52 in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., the team said in a statement.
Adams, a first-round draft pick of the Houston Astros in 1977, played 66 games with the Angels during the 1982 and 1983 seasons.
He spent two seasons with San Francisco before returning to the Angels farm system for his final professional season in 1987.
The California native is survived by his wife, Tammy, and their four children.
Extending his deepest sympathies to the family, Angels vice president of communications, Tim Mead said the former infielder would "always have a special place in the hearts and memories of the Angels and their fans."
