Dak Prescott discusses why it was important for him to pick up his trash
Dak Prescott’s every move is being scrutinized on the football field, even when he’s on the sideline. If you didn’t believe the Dallas Cowboys rookie was the talk of the town before Sunday’s game against the Ravens, you do now.
How else can you explain all the hubbub surrounding Prescott’s thoughtful move to pick up his Gatorade cup after he had inadvertently missed the trash can? Cameras caught Prescott picking up after himself, and the internet couldn’t get enough of the moment. The YouTube video has been watched more than 1.5 million times.
Prescott doesn’t understand why the incident has drawn so much attention.
"More people need to pick up their trash if it was that big of a deal," Prescott said Tuesday, via the Dallas Morning News. "I just simply missed the garbage can and didn't think much of it. I got up and put my trash where it belongs."
Prescott has been on point all season, completing 68 percent of his passes. So why did the rookie miss the mark Sunday?
"I mean, I don't shoot behind my back too much," Prescott said. "I think the garbage can was kind of behind me. It was a little flip back. It still had some ice in it, so it threw off the rotation."
