Chris Ivory has the edge at running back so far

While the quarterback position is the New York Jets most publicized battle this offseason, another position battle seems to be taking shape during OTAs. The Jets have five running backs on the roster heading into training camp and one veteran is starting to pull away from the competition according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Bowles talked about the depth chart after OTAs on Thursday and Chris Ivory is projected to be the starter as of now. Ivory rushed for 821 yards and six touchdowns last season for the Jets.

Obviously, much can change from now until the start of the season. Newly signed Stevan Ridley is still recovering from an injury and Zac Stacy is learning a new offense as he comes over from the St. Louis Rams.

As of now, Powell and Richardson follow Ivory on the depth chart while Ridley and Stacy weren't mentioned.
