AP source: Redskins sign Galette to $4 million, 1-year deal

WASHINGTON (AP) A person directly involved in the negotiations tells The Associated Press that the Washington Redskins have signed defensive end Junior Galette to a $4 million, one-year contract.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract had not been announced by the team.

Galette missed the entire 2015 season after tearing his left Achilles tendon. The Redskins signed him last summer four days after the New Orleans Saints released him for off the field issues.

The 27-year-old pass rusher has 128 tackles and 31 1/2 sacks in his career, all with the Saints.

On his Twitter account, Galette posted a picture of himself as a child wearing a Redskins cap with the message: ''Blessed....Feels like I started over but with a Head Start.''
