Report: Bynum refusing to work out

Published Jul. 2, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Former NBA All-Star Andrew Bynum is more than willing to listen to teams trying to woo him for his services.

But he won’t work out with any team before signing, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports.

Bynum, who missed all of last season because of knee problems, has the size and skills to command big bucks on the free-agent market when healthy. But that’s the main issue with the mercurial big man, who has battled knee issues since entering the league with the Los Angeles Lakers and last season with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 76ers seemed to have moved on from Bynum, 25, after making a draft-day trade for former Kentucky center Nerlens Noel, who ironically is also rehabbing from knee surgery.

Philadelphia GM Sam Hinkie also revealed how the team felt, saying he viewed Bynum just like “the thousands of other young men walking around the world that are unrestricted free agents that have potential to play NBA basketball.”
