How long will the Nuggets wait to trade Wilson Chandler?

Published Jun. 23, 2015 11:05 a.m. ET

Wilson Chandler was one of the most sought-after players during this season's trade deadline, not just because of his abilities as a player, but also his extremely cap-friendly contract. One team that was particularly interested in Chandler was the Los Angeles Clippers, and it appears as if they're continuing to pursue him in the offseason. Arash Markazi of ESPN has more:

"The Clippers are also exploring trade options for Jamal Crawford, according to sources, and one possibility is trading Crawford and C.J. Wilcox, the team’s 2014 first round pick, to the Denver Nuggets for Wilson Chandler. The Clippers inquired about Chandler last season but nothing materialized."

Given that Chandler is highly coveted, it might make more sense for the Nuggets to wait until next season's deadline – when contending teams will be the most desperate to add that missing piece – to get the best deal for the swingman.
