You're killing me, Gardner! Yankees recreate famous scene from 'The Sandlot'

Oh, this is a delight.

Members of the Yankees recreated a famous scene from the tremendous 1993 baseball classic "The Sandlot." And you know what, it's really not half-bad.

You've got a very childlike Brett Gardner doing his best Scotty Smalls. You've got the combination of an angry Chase Headley as Timmy Timmons with his little brother, a confused Didi Gregorius as Tommy Timmons. There's Jacoby Ellsbury with glasses as Squints and Brian McCann as Ham Porter and C.C. Sabathia as Kenny DeNunez. But the standout bar none is a truly gifted Dellin Betances cast perfectly as Bertram Grover Weeks. He's truly marvelous.

And if you're itching for more Sandlot stuff, why not check this out.

Just for good measure, here's the original scene.

Smartly, nobody was cast as Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, because who could possibly fill those PF Flyers?
