Yanks' Robertson chosen for All-Stars

Published Jul. 10, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

Yankees pitcher David Robertson was chosen to replace Tampa Bay starter David Price at the All-Star game.

AL manager Ron Washington said he was taking the Yankees reliever, who has 56 strikeouts in 35 1-3 innings.

Robertson has a 1.27 ERA this season, mostly pitching the eighth inning for New York, and will make his first All-Star appearance.

His fellow reliever, closer Mariano Rivera, was also chosen for the Midsummer Classic but had to bow out with an injury. Yankees stars Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez also will miss the game because of injuries.
