Yanks' Posada catches for 1st time this season

Five-time All-Star catcher Jorge Posada went behind the plate for the first time since the final game of last season after New York Yankees starter Russell Martin was injured Saturday night against the Los Angeles Angels.
Posada, limited by the Yankees to first base and designated hitter duty all year, replaced Martin in the third inning after he was hit in his right hand by a foul tip.
Posada then threw out Howie Kendrick, who tried to steal second.
Martin got the start because Francisco Cervelli was a late scratch for the second straight night. Cervelli is out with concussionlike symptoms stemming from a home plate collision with Baltimore's Nick Markakis on Thursday.
In the second inning, Martin took a foul tip off the bat of Maicer Izturis and remained in the game after being checked out by the trainer.
Martin, however, was pulled before the Angels batted in the third after he appeared to have trouble throwing the ball back to the mound while warming up CC Sabathia.
Posada then came out in his catching gear to the delight of hundreds of Yankee fans, who gave him a thunderous ovation.
Kendrick led off the inning with an infield single, but he was erased by Posada, who got out of his crouch and made a perfect throw to second baseman Robinson Cano.
